How Rounda protects accounts and savings circles
Security at Rounda combines account controls, identity checks, payment transparency, device protection, encrypted connections, and user education to help communities save together with more confidence.

Overview
Rounda is built around group savings, contribution cycles, and payouts. That means security is not only about logging in; it is also about protecting account access, verifying identity signals, reducing fraud, preserving transparent pot records, and helping users make safer decisions.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. We use layered controls designed to reduce risk, detect suspicious activity, and support quick review when something does not look right.

Account protection
Biometric access
Where supported by the device, users can enable Face ID or fingerprint login. Biometric login is disabled on devices detected as rooted or jailbroken to reduce account risk.
Verified email and authenticator protection
Verified contact channels help protect account recovery, support reviews, security alerts, and important pot or payout communications.
Password controls
Rounda supports password changes and recommends keeping passwords current, private, and unique to your Rounda account.

Verification and trust signals
Rounda may use verification signals to help confirm that a user, payment method, device, or payout action is legitimate. These checks protect individual accounts and the wider savings circle.
- Identity, phone, email, bank, PIN, biometric, or device checks may be required before sensitive actions.
- BVN-related verification status may be used where applicable to help reduce fraud and protect savings groups.
- Pot membership, contribution status, payout position, and verification badges may be visible inside a pot for transparency.
- Suspicious account, contribution, payout, or device activity may be delayed, limited, or reviewed.
- Support may ask for transaction references, screenshots, or account details needed to investigate a security issue.

Payments, payouts, and pot transparency
Transparent group records
Pot members may see contribution status, payout position, due dates, payment records, and member actions needed to keep the savings circle accountable.
Reachable trusted members
Rounda encourages users to join pots with people they trust personally and can contact directly if a contribution, payout, or dispute needs attention.
Review and restriction
We may delay, limit, pause, or review account, pot, contribution, or payout actions when required for security, fraud prevention, compliance, or unresolved disputes.
Important notices
Security alerts and account-protection messages may be sent for sign-ins, PIN changes, verification updates, bank changes, payment issues, and other sensitive events.

App and infrastructure security
Encrypted transport
Rounda uses HTTPS/TLS for network communication. The mobile app is configured to block cleartext HTTP traffic.
Certificate pinning
The mobile security configuration includes public-key pinning for key service domains, with backup pins to reduce disruption during certificate rotation.
Sensitive screen protection
Android builds use secure-window controls to block screenshots, recordings, and app-switcher previews on sensitive screens. iOS uses a privacy overlay when the app moves to the background.
Compromised device awareness
The app can detect rooted or jailbroken devices at startup and disable biometric login on those devices while requiring PIN re-entry for sensitive areas.

Rounda may notify users about security-sensitive events such as sign-ins, PIN updates, verification changes, payment concerns, support reviews, and account restrictions. Keep your email, phone, and notification preferences current so important messages reach you.

Your security responsibilities
Security works best when Rounda and users both do their part. These steps help protect your account and your savings circles:
- Use a strong, unique password and update it if you suspect exposure.
- Choose a PIN that is not obvious, repeated, sequential, or shared with another service.
- Enable biometrics only on a device you control and keep your device passcode secure.
- Verify your email and phone number so security alerts and recovery messages reach you.
- Only join savings pots with people you trust and can contact directly.
- Review pot rules, payout order, contribution amount, and member list before contributing.
- Contact support immediately if you notice an unknown sign-in, PIN change, bank change, or payment issue.
